ERS MapSuite is a map display application that features two interactive products: MapBuilder and MapLocator.
The MapSuite database is easy to keep up-to-date and complete, improving the AutoSpot success rates and making your club's data maintenance easier and more efficient. Your customized map database can be updated at any time, without interrupting Emergency Road Service operations.
MapBuilder
MapBuilder allows map database administrators to customize your club's maps and provide precise dispatch data to Emergency Road Service users.
Define the boundaries for each service provider's territory or create custom layers to overlay the map data. Then, customize the map data by:
- sub-dividing maps into districts
- adding small towns and streets (with address ranges)
- adding geocoded landmarks and garages, helper notes and dispatch instructions
Subscribe to quarterly or semi-annual map data updates and use MapBuilder to keep your map database current. MapBuilder's import functionality allows you to transfer data from your AutoSpot database to your map database, preserving and updating current helper notes and dispatch instructions.
MapBuilder’s verification features allow you to ensure that customized map data is saved and correct, guaranteeing the integrity of your map database by updating related data when changes are made.
MapLocator
MapLocator offers dispatchers and customer service representatives an online map database to facilitate identification of the call location. MapLocator also assists dispatchers and customer service representatives with the selection of a tow destination by displaying the location of your Approved Auto Repair (AAR) partners and other service garages.
The call spotting process is typically handled within Emergency Road Service, but customer service representatives and dispatchers use MapLocator on an exception basis to find information about a breakdown location or tow destination.
Using the graphical interface, which offers special tools such as zoom and pan, MapLocator:
- allows you to search for a location using street name and number, landmark, highway, intersection, city, county, district, or postal/zip code
- displays locations from multiple angles to show the position of the breakdown in relation to major roads and highways
- highlights the street segment that relates to the location using the zoom, identifying the grid or location.
- displays all garages and dealerships within a specified radius and calculates the distance between the breakdown location and the garage location
- displays a garage's AAR status, hours of operation, available services and discounts so customer service representatives can select a suitable tow destination for the call
- updates the Emergency Road Service Call Receive window once it determines a location
